What is the Curonix Freedom System?
The Curonix Freedom® System is a type of peripheral neuromodulation therapy that involves placing a small electrode near the affected area. This system uses high-frequency electromagnetic coupling (HF-EMC) technology to activate the electrode, which disrupts pain signals before they reach the brain. It is FDA-cleared and offers a targeted, drug-free approach for chronic pain relief. The Curonix Freedom System provides safe and long-lasting chronic pain relief.1 It also allows patients to maintain or improve physical activity, contributing to overall well-being.

Who is a candidate for the Curonix Freedom System?
Curonix is recommended for patients with chronic pain that can be treated through electrode placement. Conditions commonly treated with this system include:

How Does Curonix Work?
This is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure performed in two stages. In the first stage, a temporary electrode is placed through the skin near the area of pain to evaluate relief. If significant improvement is observed, a second outpatient visit is scheduled to implant a permanent electrode.
Unlike spinal cord stimulation systems, this peripheral neuromodulation device does not require spinal placement, offering a highly accessible, low-risk alternative for suitable patients.
Many patients report immediate improvement in pain levels and a significant enhancement in quality of life. This device works well in conjunction with other interventions, such as physical therapy, biofeedback, or nerve blocks, offering a truly comprehensive care approach.
What to expect after the procedure
Recovery is typically quick, and most patients return to daily life activities within a few days. Follow-up visits at our office ensure the device is functioning optimally and help fine-tune your treatment plan.
Patients are often able to reduce or eliminate reliance on opioids, experience fewer flare-ups of chronic pain, and resume hobbies and work more comfortably. Ongoing support from our pain management team ensures sustained results and improved overall health.
